Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies

The Objective

Jelly Academy has worked with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies since 2022 to deliver custom training to support Indigenous-owned businesses across Saskatchewan. Most recently, through the Greg Yuel Fellowship program, SIIT has worked with us to help these business owners build their digital marketing skills to drive business growth.

The Solution

Each year, we review the previous year’s feedback and build a short survey to gauge what participants are most interested in, and in particular, what areas of digital marketing would be most helpful for them to develop skills in. 

Social Media Strategy and Meta Advertising were at the top of the list in 2026. Based on this, we customized our existing modules to support the goals of this group. By surveying participants' pre-program, we were able to gather details about their businesses, current marketing practices and skillsets to ensure we customized the lessons accordingly. 

We focused on demonstrating how each participant’s business would tie into social media and Meta advertising strategy by sharing related examples and case studies, and getting participants to share their own experiences. Our instructors then wove each participant's experience into the lessons to demonstrate how their business would benefit from particular tactics.

In addition to our 2026 training, we have also run website building and other digital marketing training with SIIT’s Greg Yuel Fellowship participants
