As the founder of Out-Smarts Marketing, she was an early adopter of digital marketing in Vancouver. After getting a formal education in commerce, business, and traditional marketing, she expanded her knowledge through hands-on experience and continually updates her skills on the latest platforms and strategies. Mhairi enjoys helping business owners understand digital marketing and seeing them succeed. Outside of work, she can be found biking in the rain, swimming, practising yoga, fermenting “weird” foods, and visiting ancient megaliths.

As a strategist and writer, he led communications at a provincial crown agency, started and sold a media property, and had his work published in The Globe & Mail, Maclean’s, and Billboard, among many other publications. He’s inspired by the power of a compelling story and its ability to bring people together. He studied politics and elections at Carleton University and then public relations at the University of Toronto.

Born into a family of entrepreneurs, she grew up learning from the best pitch man in the business – her father, an award-winning Meětis businessman who received the first Aboriginal Business Lifetime Achievement Award from Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
Jo’s experience working with the media is varied, vast and spans 25+ years. Her first (and last) jobs were as a press secretary for well-known politicians, her work has also included a stint in a Beverly Hills tech P.R. agency, and as an on-site media spokesperson during disasters like the 9/11 tragedy in NYC among others.
