Being a newcomer is always tough, being a newcomer who fled war is even tougher.
My name is Iryna Omelianenko. I am a digital marketing copywriter. In 2022, I was forced to leave my country, Ukraine, because of the war. Despite being an experienced professional, I was unable to get a job in my field. I tried all possible ways that I could.
I sent countless resumes, each edited dozens of times, attended workshops on job search and interview strategies, volunteered on two projects, and so on. I would compare a job search to promoting a new product—if your marketing strategy does not work, it is time to change it.
So, I changed the approach and decided to get certified to compete with local professionals.
