Jelly Academy Partners with the Division of Continuing Studies at UVic

Jelly Academy and the Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Victoria come together to offer all-in-one Marketing Communication Micro-Certificate.

The Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Victoria (UVic) is rolling out a brand new collaboration with Vancouver-based digital marketing school, Jelly Academy, to co-deliver the micro-credential in Marketing Communication. The Marketing Communication program incorporates three courses: Digital Marketing Bootcamp (facilitated by Jelly Academy), as well as Marketing, and Marketing Communication both offered by Continuing Studies at UVic. The program will be offered 100% online and take place over a nine-month period.

Throughout the Marketing Communication program, students will develop skills in all relevant areas of digital marketing such as digital ads, social media and public relations. This overview will work to enhance the development of integrated marketing communication strategies and help students gain confidence in planning and developing key messages, using appropriate marketing communication tools, and developing key audience segments.

With a condensed time frame and fine-tuned syllabus delivered by industry professionals with years of experience, this micro-certificate offers increased accessibility for continuing education students without the financial or time investment of a Bachelor’s degree. While the program stands alone to provide a solid education in digital marketing principles, it is also stackable to provide laddering opportunities into other non-credit programs from Continuing Studies at UVic.=

“Our goal has always been to create the most practical and effective digital marketing education for our students so that they are able to directly translate their learning into a career,” says Darian Kovacs, founder of Jelly Academy. “It’s so valuable to learn first-hand from active industry professionals and for students to be able to get a sense of what each digital marketing industry could look like for them career-wise.”

“Our collaboration with Jelly Academy unlocks avenues for learners eager to enrich and deepen their expertise in digital marketing communication, which is essential to any business. Today's consumers crave deeper engagement, connection and information, making this program ideal for those passionate about crafting impactful narratives,” states Jo-Anne Clarke, Dean of UVic’s Division of Continuing Studies. “Learners who complete the full program will graduate with a solid understanding of key skills and concepts, and a university micro-certificate that gives them a competitive edge in the industry.”

The Marketing Communication micro-certificate program begins its inaugural semester in Spring 2024. Applications are now open and interested students are encouraged to visit the website for additional details and to apply.
